Faculty of Engineering department launched a robotics lab for our computer and electrical engineering students interested in the world of robotics to nurture their skills and abilities and propel them forward to achieve higher aims. The Robotics lab launch comes in time for the upcoming prestigious National Robotics Competition, and the IEEE competition which will be held next spring. This will ensure sufficient preparation and practice for the robotics team to work hard and try to win both competitions. The lab is equipped with Vex, Lego and Arduino kits which allowed the team to develop 8 robots. Some of the developed robots’ functionalities involve a Sudoku Solver with Robot-hand written solution, Lego-based printer, and line following with an obstacle detector. The team also aims to add more sophisticated functionalities to their robots which will boost their chances of scoring high in the upcoming competitions.
